NEW JERSEY ENGAGEMENT PHOTOS: XIOMARA & SEAN

When a couple commissions me for their wedding, I send a little “Get to Know You” questionnaire which really lays the foundation for how I approach their photography. Are they silly and outgoing? Are they a little more serious? If they could do anything they want on their day off together, what would they do? I ask them to share their love story in their own words because it helps me to see their relationship how THEY see it. I also ask them BOTH to share their perspectives on things like how they met, how the proposal happened, etc. Being able to hear the same story from their unique perspectives helps me get to know them on another level. There was one line in each of Xiomara’s and Sean’s stories that shot right to the core of their relationship.

Communication. The heart of their bond is that they truly see each other, beyond anything on the surface. Their souls are the same. When communication is effortless and you feel heard and seen…there’s nothing like it! To find someone who shares the same plane of existence is magical, and you never want to let them go! Thankfully, Sean saw that and refused to let Xiomara’s first rejection dampen his spirits. He continued the friendship and even made the effort to visit Xio after he left for college. Xiomara’s hesitations soon vanished, and 8 years later they are more connected and in love than ever! I am so grateful to know these two and am honored to be the one to capture their love story! We are officially counting down the days until the wedding!!
